Tiny bus bumps along Ephesian roads
bright orange sun hangs overhead scorching
uneven ground lined with creases
crumbling library marked
with seal--Medusa's hair
coiling around
Eyes burn my soul
sending chills
down my
spine.

Youthful Memories
Ducks quack and waddle toward us, grabbing food
from your tiny outstretched hands
Bread Crumbs fall onto dusty Earth; they eat.
kicking chips, and sit
on metal swing
"Jess, push me"
hair flaps behind
and giggles
fill us
joy
from your tiny outstretched hands
Bread Crumbs fall onto dusty Earth; they eat.
kicking chips, and sit
on metal swing
"Jess, push me"
hair flaps behind
and giggles
fill us
joy

"O"
Eyes shine with the proud tears of a nation reborn
From the ashes of corruption and greed, a unifying spirit will arise
And he reassures and comforts the fears of the forlorn.
We rejoice in his Presidency and the day he is sworn
Into an Office tainted by eight years of endless lies
Eyes shine with the proud tears of a nation reborn
A Socialist, to those who look down on him with malicious scorn
Progressive diplomat, to those of us who are not looking for a reprise
And he reassures and comforts the fears of the forlorn.
Some try to topple his efforts, but on that January morn
Throngs of people will crowd and stare, as if looking at a beautiful sunrise
Eyes shine with the proud tears of a nation reborn
With patience and undying courage he will mend a nation torn
Insurmountable obstacles are present, but he hears our cries
And he reassures and comforts the fears of the forlorn
Diligent leadership will help create progress to problems skyrocketing and airborne
He promises he will stand with us in a time of lows or highs
Eyes shine with the proud tears of a nation reborn
And he reassures and comforts the fears of the forlorn
From the ashes of corruption and greed, a unifying spirit will arise
And he reassures and comforts the fears of the forlorn.
We rejoice in his Presidency and the day he is sworn

Let it be
Having to let go of the pain
Letting go of the hurt that has been felt for so long
The deep feelings of regret pour down like rain rain rain
Rain upon the windowsill splashing down down down
Who will shut the window of discontentment?
What will fill the empty void? What have I done? Whom have I wronged?
More questions than answers, more heartache than joy.
Sitting alone in quiet solitude to ponder, to wonder what might have been.
But than a ray of light illumines all thoughts, the soul, the harsh reality
Coming slowly to the realization that pain is what must be endured.
Life trials and tribulations, negativity has no place in the life of a Christian
Working diligently to serve the Lord, to help those in need
Licking the salty wounds, that taste as bitter as the pill we all must swallow
Life Lessons; positivism is all that matters
In a world of chaos, confusion, illusions of life
Seeking diligently to find the Truth and the way
The Beatles play on a loop in my brain as I sit alone, smile on my face…
“Let it be”
“Let it be”
“Let it be”

My B and Me
My B and Me
I look into your eyes, and we share a friendly embrace
Like schoolyard children we giggle at nothing in particular
You raise me up, when I feel like the world is spinning,
Dancing like a flickering candle,
Uncontrollable, like a flame
Inconsolable, I come to you and we go to Our Lord
Reading the Truth,
Eating from the Spiritual tree of knowledge,
Laughing about the absurdities of this world
Talking to one another in eager anticipation for the Coming of the One
We sing sweet melodious songs in praise and Thanksgiving to our precious Christ
The redeemer of our souls, the Gentle Savior to whom we both cling
You are my friend, the confidante with whom I share my deepest
I look into your eyes, and we share a friendly embrace
Like schoolyard children we giggle at nothing in particular
You raise me up, when I feel like the world is spinning,
Dancing like a flickering candle,
Uncontrollable, like a flame

Lost, Lonely Girl Blues
You are a lost, lonely little girl
Have another dose of medicine to ease the pain
Your Daddy has gone off to war and you will never again see his face
Love and Acceptance - the bitter pill that you cannot swallow.
Oh, how I wish I could comfort and protect you from the woman in the mirror
It’s as if I made YOU up in MY head
The men in white torture you with a few more volts to ease the madness
Monday’s seem to drag on, but for you Monday was cut short
The sun provided no rays of light, no hope for a brighter tomorrow.
You are now set free from the war that rages inside of you, that has plagued your being
Set free from the Holocaust which robbed you of yourself
Tortured painter of words, how you festoon your words with color
As dark as the words appear on the page, your words are red
Daffodils sprout out of the Earth where you lay your head
Tomorrows do not exist for you, nor do todays or yesterdays
I hear the laughter of angels, perhaps you are there among them
No more tears, no more sorrows, or pain, you are free
Dancing on a cloud with God, or perhaps playing your golden harp
It really does not matter because you now rest in peace - away from your troubles
You shut your eyes and the world, dropped dead, but I shut mine and I see a world of possibilities.
How different we are and yet so much the same
You were a lost, lonely, little girl who is now home with her Daddy
I am a man, whose father is alive and well, and yet we seem so distant
Do You see the glass over there? Is it half-full or is it half-empty?
It’s no matter for you are dead and gone
I am alive; I will always be alive in one way.
I sing the happy gospel melody of a choir, while you sing the blues
